ASPEN CLASS

This supplemental schooling option is for families with child(ren) age 5 years and up.

Prerequisites— loves of exploring the outdoors, creating connections with the local community, and making amazing discoveries about the world around us.

Our time is spent exploring the natural world around us, learning about different ecosystems and habitats, how plant and animal lives work together, and seeing how the many natural forces and cycles all work together to make our Earth a perfect home for us.

Our lead guide is Miss Isabelle! She’ll be heading up our Aspen class again this summer. Isabelle Honkomp finished obtaining her degree in Environmental Science and Sustainability in May of 2025. During her first school year with the Aspen homeschool hybrid class, she managed to create a unique and stimulating curriculum, arrange for the NMU marching band to visit our school, and create lifetime friendships with and among the children. Isabelle led a similar program out of the Lowry Nature Center in Minnesota and has a lot of experience with this age range of children. We’re excited for you to meet her!
